IMO announces tougher sulfur emissions restrictions

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has announced tougher ship rules on sulfur emissions. The rules will come into effect on January 1, 2020.  Beginning in 2020, the sulfur content in fuel cannot exceed 0.5%, down from the current 3.5%.
