It is anticipated that ongoing delays and increased dwell times will persist at Canadian west coast ports for the next several weeks as container to rail performance levels have been affected at both the Port of Vancouver and Port of Prince Rupert.
Current Terminal Dwell Times
Prince Rupert : 10-15 days
Vancouver : 10-15 days
In an effort to avoid further terminal yard congestion caused by the lack of adequate rail car supply, ground counts are being kept to a manageable level by delaying some scheduled vessel berths by up to 7 days. The berthing delays, coupled with increased dwell times, are resulting in longer transit times that are being felt across the supply chain.
Delmar will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure all shipments are delivered to their final destination in the most time efficient manner, however some delays can be expected due to the above mentioned.
