The Maritime Employers Association received a notice to strike from the Port of Montreal Checkers’ Union’s executive committee. The strike will start on Friday, July 31st at 5:59 am and end on Saturday, August 1st, at 5:59 am. (Yesterday’s bulletin mistakenly indicated that the strike will end at 5:59 pm on Saturday.)
Not affected by this situation are: liquid bulk handling, the Oceanex service (Bickerdike Terminal) and the grain terminal (Viterra).
The Montreal Port Authority invites clients to contact or consult the websites of the various terminal operators for more specific information on their particular circumstances.
