The government of China has expanded its sweeping efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus, extending the Lunar New Year holiday further to keep the public at home, this time through February 9.
The nation of Mongolia has closed its border with China, and both Hong Kong and Malaysia announced they were barring entry to visitors from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the center of the outbreak. In all, 17 cities and 50 million people are on lockdown.
For the time being, Delmar is informed that terminal operations are normal, with the exception of activities in Wuhan. In the port district of Yantian, in the province of Guangdong, several terminals have announced restrictions in operations.
Moreover, according to some reports, many factories may delay the resumption of work past the February 9 date.
Delmar will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide more information in the coming days as the situation changes.
