As communicated on Tuesday, November 19, The Teamsters Canadian Rail Conference – Conductors, Trainpersons and Yardpersons (TCRC-CTY) initiated strike action.
Still early in the strike process, CN remains committed to working with the TCRC- CTY and the federal mediators to reach a fair agreement as quickly as possible.
CN Management personnel continue to make every effort to maintain operations so that rail services remain as fluid as possible. Terminals are still loading/offloading trains and remain functional, with the engineers operating intermodal traffic to inland terminals. Based on this information and provided the strike is not prolonged, cargo in the CN Rail network continues to be serviced. It’s important to note that lag times at railyards have increased due to picket lines slowing down truck access.
Delmar would like to remind all customers that we can offer several contingency solutions for any urgent cargo. This includes Canadian West/East Coast trans load and truck solutions from ports such as Vancouver, Prince Rupert and Halifax. Moreover, Delmar also offers an intermodal solution for consolidated cargo arriving in the Vancouver port. This will help expedite any urgent containers to final destinations across Canada and the U.S. Midwest.
