U.S. Trade Representative Confirms Increase in Chinese Section 301 Tariffs

Further to President Trump’s announcement earlier this week, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) will formally publish a notice of increased Section 301 tariffs. The increased tariffs will be effective Friday, May 10, 2019. They will increase from 10% to 25% and will impact $200 billion of Chinese imports.

Section 301 tariffs are assessed in addition to other tariffs or duties that may be applicable.

Cargo arriving into the U.S. on or after the effective date will be subject to the increased Section 301 tariffs.

Products subject to increased Section 301 tariffs can be found here. An advance copy of the pending Federal Register Notice is also available.

Delmar International will continue to monitor U.S. Section 301 trade developments and provide updated information as it is made available.
