Natural Resources Canada issues Amendment 14 to the Energy Efficiency Regulations

Effective April 30, 2019, Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN) will require additional product information on various types of household appliances, water heaters, and heating and air-conditioning equipment at time of import into Canada.

NRCAN has collected information on many energy-using products at time of import for many years. The new amendment adds a significant number of items to the list that will now require additional data elements to be declared, such as brand name, model number, import purpose, as well as energy consumption details.
