Please be advised that the July 1, 2018 General Rate Increase (GRI), applicable on the Asia & Indian Sub-Continent (ISC) to Canada & USA trade lanes, and announced at levels of usd 1000 per 40′ container, will be implemented at mitigated levels.
In addition carriers will be adjusting their rates to take 3rd quarter Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) increases into account, while some carriers have announced that they will be proceeding with the implementation of an Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) due to the significant increase in fuel prices since the beginning of the year. Proposed surcharge amounts, if applicable, would vary.
Updated rates taking the above measures into account will be published as soon as possible.
Carriers have subsequently announced their intentions to implement an additional General Rate Increase (GRI) and/or Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) effective July 15, 2018, applicable on the Asia & Indian Sub-Continent (ISC) to Canada & USA trade lanes at the following levels.
General Rate Increase (GRI) effective July 15, 2018:
usd 20.00 per cbm or 500 kg
usd 900 per 20′ container
usd 1000 per 40′ container
usd 1125 per 40′ HC container
usd 1266 per 45′ container
Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) effective July 15, 2018:
usd 12.00 per cbm or 500 kg
usd 540 per 20′ container
usd 600 per 40′ container
usd 675 per 40′ HC container
usd 760 per 45′ container
It should also be noted that the carriers have indicated their intentions to apply an additional GRI effective August 1, 2018. Details on this will follow on our next GRI/PSS update notice.
