Transporters hauling containers to and from Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva) have called off their strike that lasted four days.
Local politicians and transporters will hold an emergency meeting with the port authorities Tuesday to finalize an amicable solution to the issue.
Meanwhile as previously reported port workers’ unions across India are planning to go on an indefinite strike at each of the country’s 12 major seaports, on or after May 30th, 2018, according to the general secretary of the Water Transport Workers’ Federation of India.
Delmar will continue to monitor the situation in India, and handle ocean freight cargo movements as events allow, however should work disruptions occur delays can be expected.
