U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will increase user fees effective January 1, 2018. Certain user fees and limitations established by the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) will be increased by 2.6777 percent which includes Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) and truck user fees.
The minimum merchandise processing fee (MPF) for formal entries will increase from $25 to $25.67 and the maximum MPF will increase from $485 to $497.99. The ad valorem rate will not change which is currently set at 0.3464%. The informal MPF fee will also increase from $2.00 to $2.05. The truck user fees will increase to $5.65 per trip or $102.68 annually.
