Eight-day Strike to Hit Spanish Ports

Spanish trade unions have called for eight days of strikes in protest of the government’s proposed stevedore labour reforms, while sources in Spain claim worker productivity has already decreased by as much as 30% at the ports of Valencia, Las Palmas, Barcelona and Algeciras.

Unions said that they would hold strikes from May 24th until June 9th, during odd hours on each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Delmar will continue to monitor the situation and handle ocean freight cargo movements as events allow, however should work disruptions take place some delays may be expected.
