Subject: Port of Halifax Update
|The Eastern Coast of Canada experienced a blizzard yesterday which subsequently affected operations at the Port of Halifax.
Snow started early morning of the 13th around 0600 and stopped on the morning of the 14th at 0800. Snow accumulation was over 50cm. As a result both terminals at the Port of Halifax were not operational as of yesterday and vessels in the harbour were not being offloaded.
As of this morning CN rail was still operating and both terminals are now in snow-removal mode.
Halterm is expected to re-open at 1700 today, while Ceres is expected to reopen by 0800 tomorrow.
Delmar will continue to monitor the situation and handle ocean freight cargo movements as events allow, however under the current circumstances delays may be expected.
Additional information may be obtained by contacting your local Delmar representative.
