Effective January 1, 2017 the World Customs Organization will implement the amendments to the Harmonized System (HS) Nomenclature. We expect the United States to implement these changes early in 2017, but no specific implementation date has been announced. This will impact approximately 2,900 10 –digit HTSUS. Among the changes are items in various chapters including fish and seafood, agricultural and related products, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, photographic goods, rubber, plastic and leather, wood and paper, textiles, ceramics, base metals, machinery, vehicles, manufactured articles and furniture.
