The historic Canada and European Union (EU) Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) was signed by Canada’s Prime Minister on Oct 30th. It is expected to be implemented in early 2017.
The EU is the world’s second largest economy and Canada’s second largest trading partner after the United States. It is also the world’s second largest importing market for goods. Most qualifying goods are expected to be duty free upon implementation, with the remainder to become duty free during several staging categories.
