Subject: Canada – Transpacific Eastbound GRI & PSS Update
Please be advised that the previously announced August 15, 2016 General Rate Increase (GRI), applicable on the Asia & Indian Sub-Continent (ISC) to Canada trade lanes, has been withdrawn.

Ocean freight carriers have additionally postponed implementation of the ‘new’ Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), applicable on the Asia & ISC to Canada trade lanes, from August 15 to September 1, 2016, at the following levels :

  • usd 8.00 per cbm or 500 kg
  • usd 360 per 20′ container
  • usd 400 per 40′ container
  • usd 450 per 40′ HC container
  • usd 510 per 45′ container

Meanwhile, the previously announced GRI, with an effective date of September 1, 2016, and applicable on the Asia & ISC to Canada trade lanes, is being maintained for implementation by the carriers at the following levels:

  • usd 20.00 per cbm or 500 kg
  • usd 900 per 20′ container
  • usd 1000 per 40′ container
  • usd 1125 per 40′ HC container
  • usd 1266 per 45′ container
