Transpacific ocean freight carriers have now announced their intentions to implement the General Rate Increase (GRI), applicable on the Asia & ISC to Canada tradelanes, effective August 15, 2016 at the following levels:

• usd 20.00 per cbm or 500 kg
• usd 900 per 20′ container
• usd 1000 per 40′ container
• usd 1125 per 40′ HC container
• usd 1266 per 45′ container

Carriers have additionally announced their intentions to implement a new Peak Season Surcharge effective August 15, 2016, from Asia & the ISC to all destinations in Canada at the following levels:

• usd 8.00 per cbm or 500 kg
• usd 360 per 20′ container
• usd 400 per 40′ container
• usd 450 per 40′ HC container
• usd 510 per 45′ container

It should also be noted that the carriers have announced their intentions to implement an additional General Rate Increase (GRI) effective September 1, 2016, applicable from Asia & the ISC to all destinations in Canada at the following levels:

• usd 20.00 per cbm or 500 kg
• usd 900 per 20′ container
• usd 1000 per 40′ container
• usd 1125 per 40′ HC container
• usd 1266 per 45′ container
