Date: June 28, 2016 Subject: Port of Montreal – Low Water Surcharge |
Please be advised that the St. Lawrence River water levels have decreased considerably, with latest forecasts by the Canadian Coast Guard predicting further reductions.
As a result, ocean freight carriers will be reducing their vessel capacities and applying weight restrictions to better cope with the situation. In the upcoming weeks, carriers will be implementing a Low Water Surcharge for all cargo loading or discharging at the Port of Montreal. This surcharge will be applied to all types of equipment, with levels varying slightly by carrier utilized. Delmar is following the situation closely and will advise customers promptly of any changes. Additional information may be obtained by contacting your local Delmar representative. |
