Subject: Canada & USA Import – Transpacific GRI & PSS Update
Please be advised that the January 1, 2016, General Rate Increase (GRI) applicable on the Asia & Indian Sub-Continent to Canada & USA trade lanes, and previously announced at levels of usd 1200 per 40’container to/via Westcoast ports and usd 1600 per 40’ container to/via Eastcoast ports, has been mitigated. New rates reflecting the mitigated increases effective January 1st will be transmitted via updated quotations.

In addition to the previously announced PSS effective January 15, 2016, highlighted below, ocean freight carriers servicing trade lanes from Asia & the Indian Sub-Continent to Canada & USA have announced their intentions to implement a General Rate Increase (GRI) to take effect on February 1, 2016, at the below listed levels:

Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) effective January 15, 2016
PSS from Asia & the Indian Sub-Continent to all destinations in Canada & USA

  • usd 8.00 per cbm or 500 kg
  • usd 360 per 20′ container
  • usd 400 per 40′ container
  • usd 450 per 40′ HC container
  • usd 505 per 45′ container

General Rate Increase (GRI) effective February 1, 2016
GRI from Asia & the Indian Sub-Continent to all destinations in Canada & USA

  • usd 12.00 per cbm or 500 kg
  • usd 540 per 20′ container
  • usd 600 per 40′ container
  • usd 675 per 40′ HC container
  • usd 760 per 45′ container
